Who to choose for your Small Wedding?

If you are thinking of having a small wedding, the first thing that will probably come to mind is who you are going to invite and who you are going to leave out.

Obviously, the guests will include your immediate family and close friends. Now how do you choose the rest?

Make a list of the people who you would like to be there at your wedding. But rank them as well. So say your wedding can only have 40 people.

If you receive 5 notices saying they can't come, then you invite the next 5 people on your list (plus their spouses/partners).

This way, when you wedding comes along, you will have the 40 most important people who are available that day to come along to your wedding!

Where should you stay on the first night after your Wedding?

Hi there!

When planning for your wedding, have you thought about where you might want to stay for the first night after you wedding?

Since this is a very special night, I would suggest going to a luxurious hotel!

Now, you may think that would cost too much, costing you at least $300-$400, but it doesn't have to!

3 years ago, I went to the website http://www.lastminute.com.au and got ourselves a really good deal. They have soemthing called a "Mystery Hotel". Now they don't tell you which hotel it is, but they usually tell you how many stars it is and around which area this hotel is located. Only after booking it, will it reveal to you which hotel you have booked!

The good thing about this is that is is usually sunstantially lower than the price of what it usually is. We paid $99 for a 4 1/2 star hotel in North Sydney called the Vibe Hotel. It was great! The location was near the water, the room spacious and clean as well!!

There are sites like these you might be able to find in your local area, this will save you a few hundred dollars to live in a great hotel with a fraction of the price!

A thought that came into my mind was Wedding Shoes. Depending on what kind of bridal dress the female chooses to wear, there may be no point in buying expensive shoes if the dress is going to touch the floor. If this is the case, the best thing to do is to buy a flat shoes with no pointy ends. As you will be on your feet all day, you want to make sure your are comfortable, rather than at the end of the day, your feet are throbbing in pain.

What to Reduce First to Reduce Your Wedding Expenses

Thought I'd give another quick note on how to reduce your wedding!

The biggest expense for your wedding will most likely be your Reception Venue. So if you are cutting costs, that would be the first place to turn your head to.

Reducing your guests to your closest family and friends is always a popular choice to still have a quality wedding. If you are a person who doesn't care if you have every person that you've ever met at your biggest day of your life, then I would choose this option. You get to spend more time with everyone and actually have a conversation with all the people in your wedding.

Also, think about how much the reception venue means to you. There are pleny of other alternatives other than your 5-star restaurants and hotels. You could maybe have it at a beach house, one of your friends backyard, or rent a local community hall.

Planning Your Honeymoon after your Wedding

Hi,

Just thought I would put in a note about Honeymoons after you wedding. Make sure you allocate some money to your honeymoon, otherwise you will be spending a cheap night in a local 2-star motel.

We went to Penang for our honeymoon and stayed at the Shangri-La Golden Sands Resort for 5 nights. It was perfect!!! The best value holidays in my opionion are in South-East Asia. We had an Ocean-facing view which was magnificent. The resort consisted of 3 different syled pools and right next to it was a 10 second stroll to the beach. The food gets a worthy mention here as this was our Favourite subject to talk about anytime someone mentions Penang to us. You have to try the Asam Laksa. It is a sour based soup which contains cucumber, pineapples, little fish pieces (I think it is sardines) and long tube noodles.

We would recommend Penang to anyone, as it was very affordable and very relaxing! Plus there were lots of shopping complexes to visit to if you didn’t want to stay in the resort all day!!!

Planning your Wedding Day on a Timeline

Hi there,

Darren here. Just thought I would like to share a tip on planing your day during your wedding.

If you are anything like myself and my wife, we wanted our wedding to be as perfect as possible. So this included tight timelines for almost everything we could think of!

Usually, a typical wedding would consist of the following:

A Marriage Ceremony at 12:00pm
Photos with the bridal party between 1:30-4:00pm
Reception at 6pm – 11pm

We used this timeframe to plan everything else around it.

If you are of an Asian Culture like we are, you might even have a Tea Ceremony between 9am – 11am.

By using these 3 or 4 main milestones during the day, you should be able to have an estimate on what you need to do.
